The crash math in one place

  • The probability of a round reaching a multiplier m is approximately RTP / m. In a 97% game, 2x lands about 48.5% of rounds; in a 99% game, about 49.5%; on Balloon’s lowest 95.5% build, about 47.75%.
  • Expected cost per $100 wagered: about $1 at 99% RTP, $2 to $4.50 across Balloon’s range, $3 at 97%, and up to $3.80 on a low-set JetX build.
  • Every fixed cash-out target has the same expected value within a game. Your target changes variance, not the edge. The levers that change the long-run number are which game you play and, for JetX and Balloon, which build the operator runs.

Which crash game should you pick?

  • Lowest verified house edge: a Stake-style or BGaming crash game at 99%. Nothing verified beats it.
  • Biggest community on a fixed, checkable figure: Aviator at 97%; Aviatrix matches the math with a longer regulated-market list.
  • JetX and Balloon: only worth it when the operator runs a high build. Open the in-game rules and read the active figure first.
  • Lucky Jet and Rocketman: understand that their headline figures are reported, not studio-published. If your client’s rules panel states a figure, trust it over any review, including ours.
  • Spaceman: pick it for the format, not the math; its 95% trails everything above.

Verified versus reported, and why we split them

Aviator, Aviatrix, JetX and Balloon all state their return either in studio materials or inside the game client itself, where anyone can read it. Elbet and 1win do not publish figures for Rocketman and Lucky Jet anywhere we could reach, so those rows carry the reported number and say exactly where it comes from. When a studio hides the figure, that silence is information too. Our RTP version problem piece covers why this distinction moves real money.

Quick answers

Which crash game has the best RTP? Stake-style / BGaming crash at a verified 99% (1% house edge).

Is Aviator or JetX better value? Aviator’s fixed 97% beats JetX’s floor (96.2%) but trails its ceiling (98.9%). Check which JetX build the casino runs.

What is the Balloon game’s RTP? A range, 95.5% to 98.0%, set by the operator; we read it in SmartSoft’s own in-game rules in August 2026.

Is Lucky Jet’s RTP really 97%? That is the consistently reported figure, but 1win publishes no spec to confirm it. Read the in-game info panel if you have access.

Does a strategy beat a crash game? No. Every cash-out target carries the same expected loss; only the game and build change the edge.

Correction, 26 July 2026. This page previously gave Spaceman’s RTP as 96.50% and derived its probabilities from that figure. Pragmatic Play’s own game page states 95%. The figure and every number computed from it have been corrected. The 96.50% we published is widely repeated elsewhere and may reflect an earlier or alternative certified build; we publish the studio’s current stated figure and say so. How the numbers on this page were produced
P(reach m) = RTP / m

Every multiplier probability on this page is computed exactly from the crash-curve identity P(reach m) = RTP divided by m. For a 97% RTP build that gives P(2x) = 0.485 and P(100x) = 0.0097. No sampling, no estimation: the identity is exact, and it is why expected value equals RTP at every cash-out target.
